Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Phil-Nippon Kyoei Corporation (PNKC) wants this website to be usable by everyone who needs to reach us, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader or magnifier, need larger text, or are affected by motion on screen.

This statement applies to this website only. It does not cover the documents we may send you by email, or dealings you have with us by phone or in person — for those, tell us what format works for you and we will accommodate it.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. This website partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means that some parts of the content do not fully meet the standard.

This assessment is our own review of the site against the guidelines. No independent third-party accessibility audit has been carried out, and we do not claim one.

What it covers. Every page published at philnippon.com.ph, including the forms, the product catalogue and its inquiry window, the certificate viewer on the About page, and the site assistant. Documents you may download from the site — certificate scans, for instance — have not been separately assessed as documents.

How it was assessed. By reviewing the site's own code and behaviour against the guidelines: keyboard operation, focus order and visible focus, colour contrast, headings and landmarks, form labelling and error messaging, alternatives to visual and motion-based content, and behaviour with JavaScript disabled and with reduced motion requested.

What it relies on. The site depends on HTML and CSS, and on JavaScript for some features. With JavaScript turned off, every page still renders its content and is readable — the catalogue, the company information, the job listings and the legal pages all work. What stops working is the interactive parts: the filters, the certificate viewer, the site assistant, and the forms.

What we have done

The following are in place across the site today, not planned:

• Skip to main content — every page opens with a skip link, so a keyboard visitor can jump past the navigation instead of tabbing through it on every page.
• Landmarks and headings — each page has one main landmark, one top-level heading, and section headings under it, so a screen reader can be used to navigate the page rather than read it start to finish.
• Keyboard operation — the navigation, forms, product inquiry, certificate viewer and cookie settings can all be operated without a mouse. Dialogs keep focus inside themselves while open, close on Escape, and return focus to whatever opened them.
• Visible focus — the element you are on is always indicated, including on the dark panels where a default outline would otherwise disappear.
• Reduced motion — the site has a lot of movement in it. If your device is set to reduce motion, the animations, reveals and transitions are cut back accordingly.
• Forms — every field has a real label rather than a placeholder standing in for one, required fields are marked, and errors are announced and shown next to the field they belong to instead of only as a colour change.
• Text alternatives — meaningful images carry descriptions, and the decorative graphics that cannot be read — the partner globe and the Philippine client map — are hidden from screen readers and paired with the same information as text.
• Zoom and small screens — the layout reflows down to a phone-width screen and at increased browser zoom, without content being cut off or forcing sideways scrolling.

Known limitations

We would rather name these than let you find them. If one of them is blocking you, contact us and we will get you the information another way.

• No independent audit — the site has not been evaluated by an external accessibility specialist, and has not been tested with the full range of assistive technologies in real use.
• Colour contrast has not been verified throughout — the palette was chosen for the brand, and while body text is set for readability, we have not confirmed every combination of text and background across the site against the contrast requirement.
• The partner globe and the client map are visual first — both are accompanied by the same information in text, but the drawings themselves cannot be explored by keyboard or screen reader the way a sighted visitor explores them with a pointer.
• The certificate viewer is a constrained surface — our certification scans are shown in a viewer rather than offered as files, which limits what you can do with them. If you need a certificate in a different format, ask us and we will send it.
• Typefaces are loaded from a third party — the fonts come from an external font service, so how the text renders if that service is slow or blocked is not entirely within our control.

Standards we follow

We measure this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium.

In the Philippines, accessibility for persons with disabilities is governed by Republic Act No. 7277 (the Magna Carta for Persons with Disability, as amended) and Batas Pambansa Blg. 344 (the Accessibility Law), together with the National Council on Disability Affairs' web accessibility guidance for online services.

Changes to this statement

We will update this page as the site changes and as the limitations above are addressed, and move the date at the top when we do. If our conformance status changes in either direction, it will be described here rather than adjusted quietly.
